Rusty Blackbird Blitz
The second annual Rusty Blackbird Blitz is about to begin and volunteers are needed. This important bird count runs from Jan 30 through Feb 15. They are looking for volunteers to help map locations of this rapidly declining species. Even if you don't spot any Rusty Blackbirds, the negative data is needed as well and is vitally important. The program is led by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. The blitz is coordinated by the International Rusty Blackbird Technical Working Group at the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center along with the Cornell Lab and Audubon. More information and contact information can be found at Rusty Blackbird Blitz.
