Volunteers needed at the WV Water Festival this Friday/Saturday

Volunteer at the WV Water Festival
On Fri, Oct 4 and Sat, Oct 5, Morgantown is hosting its first WV Water Festival.  The Water Festival is an opportunity for young and old alike to engage in hands-on activities on a variety of topics about water (water quality, watershed issues, water’s role in history, commerce and recreation).

The event is 9:30a – 1p on Friday (for area 5th graders) and 11a – 4p on Saturday (for the community) at Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park.

The organizing committee is seeking volunteers to assist in 2 major ways:
1.     Act as “tour guides” for the student groups on Friday.  The groups will be rotating through the activities.  The tour guides will escort the groups from the drop off point (in the Wharf District) to the park, and ensure the groups stay on schedule as they rotate.
2.     The WVDEP is providing a stream table (simulated stream).  Currently, the WVDEP staff person who is leading the activity can attend only on Friday.  He can leave it for use on Saturday, but we need folks to facilitate the activity for the community.  Master Naturalists would be perfect facilitators!
