Mason-Dixon Line hike set for Oct 19

Pete Zapadka, found of, a website dedicated to the exploration of the Mason-Dixon Line, will host the Mason-Dixon Line Hike and Celebration beginning at 10:30am, Oct 19, at Mason-Dixon Historical Park on Buckeye Road near Core.  The 3 mile hike is a great opportunity for history buffs to learn about Mason and Dixon.
An interactive activity will be held during the hike to mark the return of prisoners from the French and Indian War - which ended in 1763 - across the Mason-Dixon Line.  Historian Doug Wood of Nitro will begin the day by leading the interactive program, in which visitors will be invited to participate.  Joining Wood will be historical re-enactors Dianne Anestis, of Nitro, and Ed Robey, of Morgantown.
Participants will meet in the parking lot at the park's red barn before the hike.
