Two Great Elective Classes Feb 21 at WVBG

Note from Ellen:

Hope everyone is staying warm.  The good news  - next Saturday the 21st will be much more 'normal'.  This is a reminder that Doug Wood and Diane Anestis will be with us all day.  Starting at 9 a.m. we will study "Nature in Winter" with Doug.  Lunch at 12, and then about one Diane will share "Critters need to eat too" We will meet in the sales trailer at Imperial East next to the Botanic garden .  A part of each program will be indoors and the rest will be outdoors - that's why the more friendly temperatures are welcome.
The cost for the day is $15 if staying for both sessions and $10 for just one session.  You may pay by check or cash.  Remember to bring lunch if you are with us all day - and plenty to drink.  We will meet rain or shine so dress appropriately.

See you next Saturday.  This program is too good to miss!

Coopers Rock Foundation presents Winterfest this Saturday

***Saturday February 7 -Coopers Rock Foundation presents Winterfest from 10 am to 4 pm at Coopers Rock State Forest
Fun for the whole family!  Come and try out cross-country skiing, or snow shoeing for an hour or two with our free rentals, or take the tiny tots down our sledding hill, and through our obstacle course! Teach your children the secrets of making a great snowball or snow man!  Take a guided hike with one of our talented young Board members and learn about the kinds of trees that live in the forest.
Maybe you are more adventurous or competitive and would like to talk a long winter walk out to the overlook and back (6 miles round trip).  We will have a warm fire going in the Pavilion and you can purchase a cup of hot chocolate and some hot home made chili or a hot dog to fuel you return trip.  A memory making day for sure!
For the competitive crowd, we have a variety of events including the very famous women's frying pan toss!  We also have competitive skiing events such as a downhill slalom, a slingshot paintball biathlon, and maybe even a first ever Winterfest race!
