Local Volunteer Opportunities

At the WVBG this Saturday:
> I would like to schedule a special workday for removal of invasives
> next Saturday, May 9th, from 9 am to noon. We have an area with
> lots of Tatarian Honeysuckle, some Japanese Honeysuckle and
> Multiflora Rose and a patch of Japanese Stiltgrass (the latter needs to
> be removed before it goes to seed.) People will need work gloves,
> although we can supply them for anyone who needs them. We will
> supply the tools necessary for the work. Some of the plants are at the
> edge of the water and may require some wading, so if a couple of
> people could wear rubber boots that would be helpful.

It's a good idea to wear long pants if you would like to avoid getting scratched by some of these defensive plants. Also remember to bring sun protection, water, etc.
