WVU Core Arboretum Nature Connection Series

If you haven't already visited the Arboretum on Tuesday nights from 6-7 for the Nature Connection Series, you have missing out on a great educational opportunity.  Here is the schedule for the August talks:

August 1:  
Sue Olcott, WV Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Biologist:  
Nomads on the wind:  Declines and hopes for the monarch butterfly

August 8:  
Katie Fallon, Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia, Author:  
Vulture:  The private life of an unloved bird

August 15:  
Craig Barrett, WVU, Assistant Professor of Biology:  
Beyond photosynthesis: Alternative nutritional lifestyles in plants

August 22:  
Jay Buckelew, Bethany College, Professor Emeritus of Biology:  
(bird range expansions in WV)
August 29:  
Jamie Schuler, WVU, Assistant Professor of Forest Resource Management:  
(maple syrup biology and production)
These talks are held in the Amphitheater off the main lawn at the top of the Arboretum.  A large screen is erected and a sound system is in place.  Plenty of bench seating and free parking available at the Arboretum and the Coliseum.  Come out and join us.
